Our Daily Bread serves between 300 and 400 meals a day, five days a week, totaling 97,776 meals in 2017. This makes us the largest soup kitchen in Cincinnati, serving between 200 and 300 guests each day, seating approximately 68 people at a time. Our guests are encouraged to go through the lunch line as many times as they need to get their fill.
More than food, we strive to provide a safe, welcoming space to gather in a low-barrier environment. 100% of the food we serve is donated (sparing thousands of pounds of usable food from the landfill each year) and each Soup Kitchen shift requires 25-30 volunteers, allowing volunteers from all walks of life an opportunity to truly connect with their neighbors. In 2017, our Soup Kitchen volunteers logged in 17,347 hours.
