Our Daily Bread loves volunteers!

Last year they donated nearly 30,000 hours of time. It is a great way to reach out to help the poor.

We use volunteers to help with the daily meal, serve it and keep the dining room tidy and clean. Monday - Friday, 9 to Noon.

Volunteers developed the idea of Tuesday afternoon Bingo and now run it for us.

Volunteers can hold food drives for us, see wish list.

Perhaps you have an idea for a program you would like to volunteer to establish.

Volunteers also help run Kids Café - our children's afternoon program - which operates Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3-5:30

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Assisting in preparation and serving meals
Delivering meals to shut-ins through Lunch on Legs
Food pick-up and delivery (van or truck needed)
Handyman/Building maintenance
- Electric
- Plumbing
- HVAC
- Carpentry/shelving
- Kitchen appliances
Weekly (1 or 2 days) volunteer to restock/organize food pantry
Event leadership
Cultivate personal hygiene donations
Working with Kid's Cafe

8:00am	Kitchen Staff Arrives
8:30am	Volunteers begin to arrive to help with meal preparation Sign in Volunteer binder Put on aprons, Wash hands and put plastic gloves on You may be assigned to help with: bread, deserts, water, coffee, napkins/silverware, etc.
9:30am	Doors open! Coffee service in lower half of dining room.
9:45am	Gather in circle in kitchen and say a prayer (Not required, you're welcome to join in if you so choose)
9:50am	Meal Service begins(2 hours) Often our guests come to us expressing anger at their situation, however if we give all guests a warm greeting and smile, maybe our love and hospitality can be soothing and make their day more positive.
11:45am	The line is closed down, cleaned off, and food put away.
12:00 noon	Lunch break for kitchen staff and volunteers (On Fridays we close the doors at 12:00 noon.)
1:00pm	Afternoon program, or activity begins and snack is put out Tuesday - Bingo Wednesday - Grocery Bags distributed Thursday - Movie Day and personal hygiene bags
2:00pm	Final cleaning in kitchen and dining room area
2:30pm	Doors Close
3:30pm	Kid's Café program begins (Tues, Wed. Thurs.)
